This square is famous to have been for a long time the place in which sentences of death were executed. The most famous case, and luckily the last to have taken place in that square, is the one of Giordano Bruno, who was burned alive here on February 17th, 1600. In the square you can see the statue representing Giordano Bruno, made by Ferrari in memory of this personage.
